Information about the MEAN WELL PWM-60-12DA2
The MEAN WELL PWM‑60‑12DA2 is a 60 W constant‑voltage LED driver with a 12 V DC output and high‑frequency 2.5 kHz PWM dimming, engineered for DALI‑2 controlled 12 V LED strip and low‑voltage lighting systems. The constant‑voltage PWM output allows connected LED strips to retain consistent brightness and colour quality across the entire dimming range, while the higher PWM frequency of the DA2 version helps to minimise visible flicker in sensitive applications.
Its strengths include a robust electrical design with active power factor correction, a wide 90–305 V AC input range and a fully potted IP67 enclosure that supports use in dry, damp and wet environments. The wide case temperature range from −40 °C to +85 °C, together with overload, overvoltage, overtemperature and short‑circuit protection in hiccup or shutdown modes, makes the PWM‑60‑12DA2 suitable for long‑life installations in commercial, architectural and industrial lighting.
A key unique characteristic of the PWM‑60‑12DA2 is its native DALI‑2 interface (DT6), which enables addressable, groupable and scene‑based dimming in modern building and lighting management systems, while still providing a pure PWM output towards the LEDs. Combined with its long MTBF and comprehensive safety and EMC approvals, this model is a strong fit for centralised 12 V LED strip lighting, cove and accent lighting and control‑intensive projects where DALI‑2 compliance and high‑quality dimming behaviour are essential.
