AC voltage is converted using an AC/AC transformer. The basic technical design is extremely simple. Two coils are mounted on a magnetic core. The input AC voltage is applied to the primary coil, and the output AC voltage is tapped off the secondary coil. The voltage ratio corresponds to the turns ratio.
