Medical Power Supplies
Strict protection requirements apply to power supplies in the medical field. A particular focus here is on patient and user safety. The medical standard IEC/EN 60606-1-1 specifies so-called Means of Patient Protection (MOPP) and Means of Operator Protection (MOOP). These set minimum requirements for the insulation between the primary circuit and the protective conductor, as well as between the primary and secondary circuits. Furthermore, a distinction is made between the type of connected loads (applied parts): For devices with direct patient contact – Type BF (Body Floating) and Type CF (Cardiac Floating) – stricter requirements apply than for Type B (Body) applied parts without direct power transmission. ProConnecting carries a broad portfolio of medical AC/DC power supplies from MEAN WELL with MOOP (e.g., MSP), 2x MOPP (e.g., MPM, RPS), and 2x MOPP + BF (Body Floating) certification (e.g., MEAN WELL MSP). Furthermore, various designs are available. In addition to the desktop and plug-in power supplies of the GSM series, AC/DC power supplies with (enclosed) and without housing (open frame) are also available for use in end devices. These built-in power supplies also include models with two (dual output) or three DC outputs (triple output).
