Aufgrund der doppelten Isolation ist eine weitere Erdung nicht notwendig. Weiterhin sind die Trasformatoren mit der Schutzklasse II ausgestattet und verfügen über die Schutzarten IP20 (N-Serie), IP30 und IP40 (PSS 10, PSS 20). Der Betrieb kann bei einer maximalen Umgebungstemperatur von 40°C aufgenommen werden.
Zusätzlich sind die PSS Transformatoren standardmäßig gemäß den Sicherheitsnormen EN 61558-2-4 und EN 61558-2-6 gefertigt.
