Direct current (DC) is used in a wide variety of devices. However, since alternating current (AC) is better suited for transmitting electrical energy, mains power is provided as alternating current. The conversion for the load is carried out by a power supply. However, the DC voltage provided in this way is often insufficient to operate all components of a device. Particularly in more complex circuits, individual components or even entire subcircuits require a different voltage level. This problem is solved by the use of DC/DC converters. ProConnecting offers numerous housingless DC/DC converters specifically for installation in self-contained devices. MEAN WELL DC/DC converters impress with their low acquisition cost and fanless design. Depending on the model, input DC voltages between 18V and 72V can be converted to common voltage levels such as 5V, 12V, or 24V. The MEAN WELL PSD-15 DC/DC converters are designed for a nominal power of 15W. Components and subcircuits with different voltage requirements are therefore optimally supplied by these DC-DC converters.
