Wireless / Casambi
Casambi is a wireless lighting control platform that leverages Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) mesh networking to deliver seamless, app-driven management of LED luminaires and other fixtures. By embedding compact BLE nodes within drivers, standalone modules, or third-party products, Casambi creates a self-healing network in which each node both transmits its own signals and relays those of others, eliminating the need for additional wiring or line-of-sight constraints. Commissioning and configuration are performed entirely through the Casambi mobile application, which automatically discovers devices, allows grouping into zones and scenes, and supports advanced scheduling. Within the app, users can adjust brightness levels, tune white color temperature, mix RGB or RGBW outputs, and define occupancy-based or daylight-harvesting behaviors. Integration with sensors, wireless wall switches, and cloud services further extends flexibility: motion detectors and ambient light sensors can be paired to trigger scenes or energy-saving strategies, while the Casambi Cloud platform enables remote monitoring, firmware updates, analytics, and building-management-system interoperability via RESTful APIs. The CBU-ASD-LR serves as a bridge between traditional constant-voltage LED drivers and Casambi’s BLE mesh. Housed in a slim DIN-rail enclosure, this node accepts standard 0–10 V analog dimming signals or DALI-2 digital inputs and converts them into Casambi-compatible wireless commands. It provides up to 6 A of output current at 12–24 V DC—sufficient for loads of up to 144 W—and features over-temperature and short-circuit protection. LED indicators on the module display power status, mesh connectivity, and signal activity. All parameters, including fade times, minimum and maximum dim levels, and grouping assignments, are fully configurable through the Casambi app, and firmware can be upgraded over the air during provisioning. This combination of legacy-signal support and BLE mesh integration makes the CBU-ASD-LR particularly well suited for retrofits or mixed-technology installations, allowing architects, lighting designers, and system integrators to unify disparate drivers under a single, scalable, app-based control architecture without extensive rewiring.
