KNX

KNX is an open building automation bus standard for private and commercial properties. Its flexible design allows for the integration of numerous devices, such as lamps, blinds, or HVAC systems. Sensors like buttons, switches, or motion detectors provide a variety of control options. All components are interconnected via the KNX bus, of which twisted pair cable (KNX Twisted Pair), wireless (KNX Radio Frequency), Ethernet (KNX IP), and 230V mains (KNX Power Line) variants exist. Yet despite its openness and extensive compatibility, KNX has until recently lacked a key component for the easy integration of modern lighting systems: KNX LED drivers. Today, Mean Well offers a wide range of compatible power supplies. The Mean Well PWM series of Constant Voltage (CV) KNX LED drivers is available in 60W and 120W versions. Output voltages of 12V or 24V power most LED luminaires with ease. As indicated by the series’ designation, MeanWell PWM, light output levels set via the KNX protocol are relayed to the LEDs via Pulse Width Modulation.
