Medical Desktop Adapters need to meet special insulation requirements. User and patient safety is paramount. The implementation of Means of Protection (MOP) specified in IEC/EN 6060601-1 ensures that potential dangers are mitigated. The MOP norm sets minimum standards for the electrical insulation between the primary circuit and the protective conductor (1x MOP), as well as between the primary and secondary circuit (2x MOP). Depending on the application, the MOP requirement is differentiated into the less strict Means of Operator Protection (MOOP) and the more stringent Means of Patient Protection (MOPP).
